Consumer confidence up, but ‘still a long way short’
The consumer confidence index has jumped to its highest level in four years.
But does that actually mean we’re increasingly confident?

“We’re slightly optimistic… but it’s a far cry from what I would call strongly optimistic.
“We’re still a long way short with those levels that are associated with a real consumer that’s got a swing in its step.”
