Coon Cheese to change ‘racist’ name
Australia’s iconic dairy brand, Coon Cheese, will be renamed amid claims it’s racist.
The change comes after complaints from Indigenous Australians.
In a statement, the company says it wants to eliminate racism in all its forms and has confirmed it’s now working to develop a new name, “aligning with current attitudes and perspectives”.
The cheese was named after its American creator Edward William Coon.
