Cruel twist as Far North QLD flood victims hit by Cyclone Trevor
Far North Queensland has cruelly been battered by a cyclone as residents continue cleaning up after the devastating floods.
The cyclone hit on Tuesday, uprooting trees and causing power outages with strong winds and heavy rain.
Queensland state recovery coordinator, retired major general Stuart Smith, tells Alan Jones the community was well prepared.
“I know at this stage that the initial damage reports are environmental and infrastructure from the wind and the flooding.
“We’re in a good position thanks to the local leadership there.”
