‘D-Day for Delta’: Pharmacies on board to ramp up Queensland’s rollout
Queenslanders will soon have access to more COVID-19 vaccines with pharmacies to start administering Moderna, as the state ramps up its rollout.
The vaccine will be available for all adults and children aged 12 and over.
Queensland branch president of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Chris Owen, said at least half of the pharmacies will receive their doses by Friday.
“Today is D-Day for Delta, we are getting the rollout out of the stroll out, making sure we have plenty of stocks available for that 12 plus age group.”

He said there were over 800 community pharmacies coming on board to administer the Moderna vaccine to Queenslanders.
He said people some Queenslanders were “lax” about getting the vaccine and he believed they were complacent, not hesitant.
