Desperate call-out for blood donors as stocks drop
Queenslanders are being urged to roll up their sleeves and donate blood with reserves about to drop to their lowest point since the pandemic started.
Australian Red Cross Lifeblood needs 4000 people to come forward to boost stocks of A, O and B blood groups.
Spokesperson Belinda Smetioukh says a number of factors are at play.
“It seems blood stocks are facing a triple threat at the moment, with the current flu surge and also colds and COVID-19, they are threatening to see our supplies drop to just two days by mid-week.”
