Dietitian Susie Burrell slams Pete Evans over latest alternative health claim
An esteemed dietitian has ripped into celebrity chef Pete Evans over his latest pseudo-science health claims.
The My Kitchen Rules host has endorsed a brand of alkaline water, declaring it can neutralise the acid in your body.
It’s the latest in a long string of disproven claims made by the alternative medicines advocate.
Last year he urged people to “gaze” into the sun and to spurn trained psychologists.
Dietitian Susie Burrell tells Chris Smith Evans’ latest fad is absolute nonsense, saying there’s no proof we can control our body’s pH levels.
“There’s no evidence to show it works. There’s some concern about its safety.
“It’s just going to be expensive water that good old Pete’s making a lot of cash over to support his retirement.”
Alkaline water does not contain fluoride and has a higher PH level than regular drinking water.
