Suspended Ipswich mayor Andrew Antoniolli has been arrested overnight for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.

Under bail conditions imposed on him earlier this month, the former Mayor was banned from contacting several people with council links.

He spent the night in the Ipswitch watch house before being granted bail.

Mr Antoniolli is one of 15 former Ipswich councillors facing fraud charges from the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).

The 47-year-old stood down from his role as Mayor but councillor Paul Tully has called on him to resign altogether, following his court appearance this morning.
