A man has been filmed unleashing a racist attack against a group of people fishing along the Brisbane river on Anzac Day.

The group of people were fishing off a pontoon in Newstead, when the 69-year-old man on crutches started offloading verbal abuse at them.

Neil Breen said on Brisbane Live that it was “disgraceful”.

The 69-year-old Tenerife man was arrested and received a $391 public nuisance infringement.

Neil Breen believes he should have been given a “bigger penalty because there is a Racist Discrimination Act”.
