‘Disturbing’ new milestone reached in Queensland’s road toll
Queensland Police have released a confronting video urging drivers to take care on the roads as the state reaches a grim new milestone of road fatalities.
Police say the state’s road toll for 2021 has now reached 250, which means more Queenslanders will die this year than in over a decade if the trajectory continues at the same speed.
Scott Emerson said it was “disturbing news”.
It will be the worst year in a decade for road deaths.
If we continue on this trajectory we’ll lose more Queenslanders to road crashes this year, than we have in over a decade. Your decisions on our roads have real consequences. Help us reduce the impact by making better decisions behind the wheel.
