‘Don’t bank on it’: Economists are not convinced Reserve Bank will cut rates

Many expect the Reserve Bank of Australia to cut interest rates today, for the first time since 2020.
The big four banks are all forecasting a 25-basis-point drop but not all are convinced that the RBA will come through as expected.
Economic Futurist, Evan Lucas told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “You cannot bank on today being a certainty.”
9News Money Editor Effie Zahos also told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast,”You’ve got some economists now saying, it’s not in the bag today, It’s not a done deal.”
“There are as many reasons to keep the cash rate on hold as there is to cut it, “Ms Zahos continued.
