Dozens turn out for ‘Stand with Ukraine’ rally in Brisbane
The wet weather in Brisbane hasn’t deterred people from attending the Stand With Ukraine rally in King George Square.
Nine News reporter Reece D’Alessandro said there were “dozens of dozens of people” despite the rain.
“Many of them Ukrainian Australians, most of them have family and fiends in the conflict zones in places like Kyiv, some of them are sheltering and some are ready to pick up arms and fight,” he told Scott Emerson.
“Plenty of tears here this afternoon … these are a people who say they have a peaceful country, a peaceful people, they don’t want conflict.”
