Elderly woman in nursing home coerced into voting ‘Yes’ for Voice Referendum
A 96-year-old woman was coerced into voting ‘Yes’ in her postal vote for the Voice Referendum.
Sarah had arranged for her mother to receive a postal vote at her nursing home, and when the vote arrived and it was time to cast it, a caregiver advised her to vote ‘Yes’ if she was uncertain.
Sarah told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “…When you explain to her what it’s about [the Voice] she has very definite ideas.”
