Fallen QLD police officer Brett Forte honoured for his bravery
A Queensland police officer, killed in the line of duty, has been honoured for his bravery this morning.
Senior Constable Brett Forte was shot in May last year when a gunman Rick Maddison opened fire on police in the Lockyer Valley.
The 37-year-old father of three was a third generation policeman, following in the footsteps of his father, uncle and grandfather.
Police Minister Mark Ryan will honour the fallen officer today, naming the Polair 2 helicopter ‘Brett A Forte’ as a mark of respect.
Polair 2 was the helicopter sent to respond when Senior Constable Forte was killed.
“Another brave police officer who went to protect the community and didn’t come home to his family,” Ray Hadley says.
