Anger is growing among fans over a decision that has seen the next three A-League grand finals sold to NSW.

But the APL says they expected the fierce reaction but it was for the good of the game long-term.

The decision was made by the board.

General manager of football at Brisbane Roar, Ante Kovacevic, says he understands fans concerns.

“It’s not ideal, and I think everyone involved would have expected this [reaction] would happen,” he told Jason Dasey, filling in on Brisbane Live.

But he said there were commercial realities, and that he hoped it paid off.

“It’s short-term,” he said.
