Farmer’s desperate plea for access to Murray-Darling water allocations
Farmers on the Murray Darling in the NSW Riverina are expressing their desperation over the lack of water allocations.
Moama Farmer Richard Ham says they need access to the supply of water currently being held in storage dams.
Richard Ham tells Alan Jones they’re struggling to survive on a zero allocation for irrigated water:
“If you look at the figures… if there’s 4000 megalitres of general security water, that’s something like $24,000 of fixed charges that we’ve got to pay for the year for no water.”
