A father and his two sons have been killed in an accident in a work shed in far western New South Wales.
The tragedy unfolded when emergency services were called to a home at Broken Hill yesterday afternoon.
They found the three family members unconscious in a shed at the rear of the property.
The 44-year-old man and his 16 and 23-year-old sons were taken to Broken Hill Hospital where they have since died.
It’s believed they were overcome by fumes while working with an engine or generator which malfunctioned in the unventilated area.
Police have established a crime scene, but say it will be some time before officers can safely enter the shed to carry out a full investigation.
