Federal MP slams dishonest union advertising campaign
The latest advertising campaign from the ACTU is being criticised far and wide.
Australia’s peak union body has launched its largest campaign in a decade, calling for pay increases for workers and government restrictions on casual employment.
The Australian Chamber of Commerce says the ads contain re-hashed half truths.
Federal Minister for Workplace and Deregulation Craig Laundy tells Steve it’s “based completely on lies”.
“The rate of casuals in the workforce has been consistent for the last 20 years.
“They’re trying to play to that subset of the community which feels they’re under cost of living pressure, and saying we’ll fix it.
“The reality is… it will ultimately put people’s jobs at risk, not create new jobs.”
