A video has come to surface of a Windsor Bridge protest in which federal politicians deliberately ignore the instructions of police.

Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon and Labor MP for Macquarie Susan Templeman were among protesters who linked arms and physically resisted police.

They were moved on to allow workers on the Thompson Square site.

The disgraceful incident raises the question: how can we expect the public to respect and follow police direction when members of parliament refuse to do as asked?

NSW Greens member David Shoebridge has also come under fire for allegedly paying the legal fees of Ms Templeman and Ms Rhiannon.

Mr Shoebridge called in to speak with Ray Hadley.

“You normally get your facts straight, but you’re not straight on this one.

“I think the police did an extremely professional job.

“They were very careful not to inflame the situation and to talk people through things.”

He tells Ray he isn’t paying the legal costs.

“They’re on a decent salary. I reckon they can sort it out themselves.”

Mr Shoebridge admits he is paying legal fees to the sum of $500 for private citizens who were at the protest.
