Fiji’s Prime Minister says he won’t allow IS recruiter Neil Prakash citizenship
Fiji’s Prime Minister says he won’t allow Islamic State recruiter Neil Prakash to be granted citizenship, even if he applied.
The country claims it’s done a thorough search to establish if the 27-year-old, who is currently in a Turkish prison, is a citizen but it failed to produce any results.
Prakash has been stripped of his Australian citizenship by the federal government.
Fiji Sun reporter Nemani Delaibatiki tells Luke Grant he’s spoken to his country’s PM and a tough stance is being taken.
“He would not be welcome here anyway.
“[The PM] said that he is a terrorist… in his own words, he said that at any rate, he is a terrorist and a member of IS. We don’t entertain them nor do we accommodate them.”
