Fire crews battle blaze at Visy Glass factory in South Brisbane
A fire that broke out at the Visy Glass factory in South Brisbane this afternoon has been brought under control.
The site is earmarked to become the Olympic Games media centre in 2032.
Multiple fire crews were at the scene of the factory fire on Montague Road.
Nearby, people have spotted smoke billowing into the air.

9News reporter Brigitte O’Brien says there were nine crews on scene around 4pm after the fire broke out in a furnace.
There are no reports of injuries.
“We do understand that factory is up and running once more.”
