The Lyric Theatre at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre will reopen today after flooding forced its closure for some weeks.

Around 32 million litres of water impacted the surrounding Cultural Centre, leaving a mess that required 200 workers to clear.

QPAC CEO John Kotzas told Sofie Formica it’s been a mammoth effort but there’s still more work to do.

“At this stage, we’re able to say tonight the Lyric will be performing and Frozen is back,” he said.

“But the rest of the building will be proceeding in the next couple of weeks.”
