‘Generation’ of nicotine addicts a ‘public health disaster in the making’, top doc warns
The state’s top doctor is warning of a “public health disaster in the making” as the popularity of vaping continues to rise among children.
Queensland’s Chief Health Officer, John Gerrard, says vaping is a “big concern” and our systems may buckle under the pressure in the future.
“It has the potential of creating an entire generation of children addicted to nicotine,” Today reporter Mia Glover told Laurel, Gary & Mark.
“He really hasn’t held back but I think he’s really concerned about the state of our hospitals and our health system in the years to come.”
