Generous 4BC listeners help desperate animal sanctuary through bushfire chaos
4BC listeners have enthusiastically sent donations to an animal sanctuary that is struggling to survive the bushfire season.
The Peanuts Wellbeing Sanctuary in Goulburn, NSW, aims to break the cycle of abuse for disadvantaged, neglected and abused animals. It also provides nurturing for children from dysfunctional backgrounds.
But the sanctuary is going through an immensely difficult period during the bushfire season, with its resources stretched as many staff and volunteers leave to fight fires.
Owner Michael Still reached out to Luke Grant for help on Thursday, asking for donations to help them get through the “total chaos”.
The response from listeners was so overwhelming Michael decided to come back on-air today to thank everyone for their support.
“I just want to say a huge thank you to 2GB and all your listeners. Donations have come in all around the place.
“We’ve had donations of pet food, monetary amounts, water, stock feed.”
