Former Wallaby Dean Mumm has reached the North Pole, trekking to raise money for charity.

He did it in support of British organisation Borne, which aims to reduce the rate of premature births.

Mumm and his wife Sarah have twice experienced the loss of a new baby… their first daughter Sophie, born at 21 weeks, then son Henry at 28 weeks.

The expedition took off from Norway and spent four days reaching the pole by cross-country skiing.

Mumm tells Alan it was a phenomenal experience.

“It was just terrific, it is truly a magical spot up there.

“It’s unique obviously in terms of its environment and the fact that you’re on an ocean 24 hours a day, standing, is pretty unique.”
