Two protestors who climbed on to the roof of a Brisbane immigration facility at Pinkenba are now in police custody.

The 23- and 24-year-old women, who are members of a refugee solidarity group, say they took the action in support of detainees in Melbourne who have been protesting their detention and conditions.

It’s understood protestors in the south have torn down fences, occupied the roofs and taken control of two compounds, forcing all guards to withdraw from the compounds.
