Hopes are high for Gold Coast Magic Millions as ‘best of the best’ are called in to save the track
The Magic Millions is one of the marquee events on the horse racing and social calendar in this country, offering 12 days of action on and off the track.
Unfortunately, the future of the events this weekend hangs in the balance as part of the Bundall racetrack has been poisoned.
The track poisoning has resulted in the inaugural twilight meet to be pushed to the Sunshine Coast and now the Gold Coast Turf Club are working around the clock to get the track right in time for the big race this Saturday.
CEO of the Gold Coast Turf Club, Steven Lines told Dean Miller on 4BC Summer Breakfast, “At this point in time, we’re confident that we can get it up and running.”
Co-Owner of the Magic Millions, Katie Page told Mark Levy on 4BC Summer Mornings, “We’ve got every expert known to man here, and it has happened before, like Flemington had an issue at some point, so we have the best of the best, they all landed yesterday, and that race will be there on Saturday, absolutely.”
