Bargain hunters are urged to be prepared as they shop Black Friday deals this weekend. 

Fleur Brown from the Australian Retailers Association told Laurel, Gary & Mark there’s some simple things shoppers can do to avoid regretful purchases.

“[It’s] what we call purposeful shopping,” she said. “Lots of checking, even checking your mobile when you’re in-store, comparing prices.

“It means retailers are being caught out if they’re not putting genuine bargains out there and also, people are getting what they really want rather than just a mass haul of products.”
