How to convince young people to go into politics: Arthur Sinodinos
Outgoing Senator Arthur Sinodinos has spent much of his political career inspiring young people to get involved in politics.
Mr Sinodinos will officially give up his position as a senator on Monday, where he will then become our next Ambassador to the United States.
His replacement will be chosen on Sunday, with retired Major-General Jim Molan considered a frontrunner.
Mr Sinodinos tells Steve Price he’s been working on the Australian Futures Project’s Parliamentary Leaders Program for four years now and thinks it’s important to inspire the next generation of politicians.
“I think you’ve got to tell people there is no more noble calling, when it’s done right, than politics, because you’re not working for yourself.
“You’re working for the community, you’re working to make things better for everybody.”
Mr Sinodinos also opens up about his battle with cancer, as well as the inspiration he drew from John Howard throughout his career.
