Human excrement, assaults on the street: Lang Park’s neighbours fed up
Fed-up neighbours of Suncorp Stadium are demanding help to mitigate the repulsive behaviour of footy fans.
The anti-social behaviour has grown so bad residents in surrounding streets say they have to hose down footpaths and disinfect their homes after almost rugby league game.
Nichola Burton, a resident of nearby Clifton Street, says it’s not out of the ordinary to find human excrement on the exterior walls of her home.
“It’s a regular occurrence for us to be out there with the hose and the disinfectant post-stadium games,” she told Sofie Formica.
Ms Burton said attempts to direct drunken fans to amenities on Caxton Street have gone awry in the past.
“People don’t feel safe in the street because when you do go out and ask people politely, … they actually become quite violent.
“We’ve had some assaults on the street. My husband in particular ended up in hospital twice as a result.”
