Senator Jim Molan is still holding out hope for a seat in parliament after the Liberal Party’s election victory.

The retired major general was placed in a position deemed unwinnable on the Senate ticket in Saturday’s election.

“The Labor preferences will flow down and I might get swamped by them.

“I need a miracle.

“It might only be a couple more days.”

He says he was totally shocked by the election result.

“What this proved was that once people focused… once they look at the big issues, then I think that we’ve got great hope for a sensible, right-of-centre, country.”
