ICAC inquiry: Gladys Berejiklian told private hearing she didn’t suspect corruption
An Independent Commission Against Corruption hearing has been played evidence former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian gave in private last month.
Ms Berejiklian was questioned in private as to why she didn’t report suspicions of corruption when she sacked then-MP Daryl Maguire in 2018.
In the response, she claimed she didn’t have enough evidence to make a report but eventually says she didn’t have suspicions.
“She was saying she was shocked and the reason she never came forward was she didn’t know, she didn’t have any evidence,” Nine News reporter Liz Daniels told Sofie Formica.
“Gladys Berejiklian never spoke to ICAC until late-2020.”
