Newcastle co-captain Kalyn Ponga has given Queensland coach Billy Slater something to think about, making clear he wants to play fullback for the Maroons.

Ponga, who’s had a strong start to the season is in a red hot battle with Broncos star and incumbent Maroons fullback Reece Walsh, ahead of this year’s State of Origin series.
