‘If it’s flooded, forget it’: SES issue timely reminder after spate of rescues
The SES is reminding Queenslanders not to enter floodwaters after 14 incidents in the last 24 hours.
It comes after a 73-year-old man drowned when his ute was swept into floodwaters north of Toowoomba.
“Unfortunately, we’ve still got people taking some actions and getting themselves in trouble,” Assistant Commissioner Stephen Smith told Neil Breen.
A number of flood warnings remain current for parts of Queensland, including in the state’s south.

Police said two utes were both swept into a creek from Kelvinhaugh Yalangur Road at around 8.20am.
The driver and sole occupant of one of the cars was able to get out.
But the driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle, a 73-year-old Roma man, was found dead.
