Legislation for the Indigenous Voice to parliament has officially passed in the Senate, meaning the Australian public will vote on the Voice referendum later this year.

The bill for the Indigenous Voice passed in the Senate this morning, 52 votes to 19. 

The referendum that Australians will vote on this year will ask whether an Indigenous advisory body should be recognised in the Australian constitution.
