International flights set to take off earlier than expected

Australians could be jet setting off to a number of overseas locations before the end of the year.

Qantas announced its 11,000 Australian-based staff will be back at work in early December, with a new route to New Delhi, as well as flights from Sydney to Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket, Johannesburg and Fiji all resuming ahead of schedule.

All of these flights are departing from Sydney.

Flight Centre CEO, Graham Turner, he said he had heard some indication that Qantas might fly between Brisbane-Los Angeles, but he wasn’t sure.

“People for sure want to know if they ca come back without quarantine, that’s a major thing.

“We’ve just heard that Qatar is coming from Doha, Sydney and Melbourne on December 1, with full capacity.

“This is all good news.”

Mr Turner predicted international flights in and out of Queensland would resume when the state hits 80 per cent double dosed, at around December 6 in his view.

He said he expected an announcement in the next couple of weeks, although he hastened to add he “didn’t know that” for sure.
