The Presbyterian Church is under fire after telling a discrimination review that students who are “actively gay” or having unmarried sex should not be school captains.

The church, which operates four schools in Queensland and 20 nationally, argues those students would “not be able to give appropriate Christian leadership”.

Brisbane Boys’ College, Somerville House, Clayfield College and Sunshine Coast Grammar school are operated by the church and each charge annual fees of up to $27,000.

“The whole thing is so creepy,” Luke Bradnam said on 4BC Breakfast. “The question I think the Presbyterian Church Australia need to answer is how are they going to find out this information?

“If a school had’ve sat down my daughter and asked her about her sex life, I would be absolutely furious.”
