It’s official! Tiger Woods is coming to Australia
The PGA Tour has confirmed golfing great Tiger Woods will head down under for the 2019 Presidents Cup.
The former world-number-one has been officially announced as Team USA captain, with South African Ernie Els named captain of the Internationals.
The tournament will be held at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club on from December 9 to 15, 2019.
It’ll be Tiger’s first visit to Australia since 2011, before his very public fall from grace.
The 14-time major winner is on the comeback trail, finishing tied second at last week’s Valspar Championship.
He’s back in action this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, paired to play with Aussie Jason Day.
But it’s the first week of April that will be Tiger’s biggest test, when he makes a long-awaited return to The Masters.
Tiger Woods. Ernie Els.
They’ve squared off as players. Now as captains.
