‘It’s ridiculous’: Richo slams Barnaby Joyce’s privacy breach claims
Barnaby Joyce has formally complained about the media breaching his privacy, at the same time pocketing $150,000 for a tell-all TV interview.
The former deputy prime minister and his partner Vikki Campion have complained to the Australian Press Council, that the Daily Telegraph breached their privacy by exposing their relationship.
But Mr Joyce and Ms Campion are set to receive a reasonable paycheque to tell their story.
One half of the Big Guns Graham Richardson is calling out the hypocrisy, telling Ben Fordham “it’s ridiculous”.
“While you’re in the parliament, you don’t charge for your story.
“While you’re in the parliament you’re public property, you’re on the public payroll and your story is going to be told by whoever wants to tell it.
“But you don’t get paid for it.
“Once we go down the path of paying elected representatives on the payroll of the government for their story, you wonder, what’s the point in being elected?”
