Canberra Raiders Halfback Jamal Fogarty has opened up on how hard it was for Jack Wighton to inform coach Ricky Stuart of his decision to sign with South Sydney in 2024.

Emotions were running high following yesterday’s golden point win over the Dolphins with Wighton and Stuart both visibly emotional post-game.

Fogarty kicked the winning field goal in the 83rd minute yesterday and told The Continuous Call Team the players back Wighton’s decision.

“As players and good mates of Jacko, we support his decision no matter what,” Wighton said.

“We would love him to stay but at the end of the day we know he’s got to look after himself and his family.

“No matter what Jacko does, we are always going to love him and always going to support him.”
