Jarryd Hayne charged with aggravated sexual assault
Jarryd Hayne has been charged with aggravated sexual assault over an alleged attack on a woman on the night of the NRL Grand Final.
The uncontracted rugby league player was arrested by Sex Crime Squad detectives after handing himself into Ryde police station this afternoon.
A woman claims she was injured during a sexual encounter with the two-time Dally M medallist in the Hunter Valley.
It’s yet to be decided if he’ll be released on bail or spend the night in custody ahead of facing court.
Earlier, Nine News Reporter Danny Weidler told Ben Fordham he’s spoken to the woman’s family.
“The family says that the woman went to the doctor and had photographic evidence to support her claims.”
