Jessica Sergis’ emphatic response to a three-game women’s Origin series
New South Wales Sky Blues star Jessica Sergis has emphatically backed a call for the women’s State of Origin series to go to three matches in the future.
This year will see the series expanded to two games for the first time after five years of single Origins.
Sergis told The Continuous Call Team there should be three games to decide the winner, equal with the men’s series.
“It’s pretty crappy we only get the two games and it goes down to the points (decider) at the end of the day,” Sergis said.
“We want the three (games), but it just means we are going to have to win both games quite easily I guess.”
The Sky Blues will be looking to make back-to-back series wins after taking out last year’s shield, with the first game on June 1 at CommBank Stadium.
