US President Donald Trump has targeted Iran’s Supreme Leader and other senior officials with new sanctions.

The United States is briefing the United Nations Security Council about its concerns.

Outgoing senator, retired major general Jim Molan tells Alan Jones he believes it’s the most serious standoff in the Gulf since the 70s.

“Let’s see what President Trump can do.

“It may not come to a shooting war but, as he said, everyone is cocked and loaded and everyone is ready to go.

“Now we don’t want that in any shape or form but neither can we accept the fact of what Iran and its proxies have been doing in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen, now in the Gulf and the Red Sea.”
