Johnathan Thurston has welcomed the NRL’s introduction of a mandatory 11-day stand-down period for players with concussion.

The former star player and Nine commentator applauded the move.

“Great move by the NRL, to put this in place,” he said.

He agreed with Psalty’s idea to remove the rule around players on development contracts.
