Dozens of Clarence House staff have been given notice of redundancies ahead of the King and Queen Consort’s move to Buckingham Palace.

Up to 100 employees at King Charles III’s former official residence were notified during the thanksgiving service for the Queen that they could soon lose their jobs.

Private secretaries, the communications team and household staff are among those who received notice on Monday that their posts were on the line.

“Technically speaking, it’s the warning that jobs are probably going to have to go, rather than actually people being handed their notice,” UK correspondent Adam Gilchrist told Laurel, Gary & Mark.

“But staff were told … redundancies were, quote, “unavoidable”. King Charles is no longer Prince Charles, he won’t be at Clarence House anymore.”
