Landmark Coaldrake review handed down
A landmark review into the state government’s integrity and accountability has been handed down, with 14 recommendations.
Professor Peter Coaldrake had been investigating culture and accountability within the public service, following allegations of interference from public servants.
He’s recommending lobbying rules be strengthened, whistleblowers be given more protections and a stronger framework for relations between ministers and their staff.
“This situation fosters a culture predisposed to
nondisclosure.”(something many Queensland reporters know well but has never been acknowledged)
