As severe weather begins to ease across Southeast Queensland the road to recovery begins for many Queenslanders.

2PM: The Brisbane City Council has provided an update on public transport services for the rest of the week.

12.30PM: Energex Spokesperson Danny Donald told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, “We’re aiming to get 95% of people back up and running by Friday. But we are aiming to get 100% of people back up by Sunday night, and they’re the people that can be restored.”

Deputy Mayor of Brisbane, Fiona Cunningham, told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, “You can get rid of the sand that’s in them, but keep your actual sandbags inside, not in sunlight, and they’ll be fine to use again in the future.”

Major General Jake Ellwood, Chief Executive Officer of the Queensland Reconstruction Authority joined Sofie Formica to discuss recovery, as hardship grants are now available for Redlands, Gold Coast, Logan residents impacted by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
