A Brisbane advance care paramedic stuck in Victoria after saying goodbye to his dying mother is desperate to get back home.
Bryce is among thousands of Queenslanders stranded interstate due to a massive backlog caused by strict border rules.
“I’ve been at the frontline of COVID as it’s evolved,” Bryce told Neil Breen.
“But now I feel like I’ve been placed at the back of the queue when it comes to getting back.”

A letter sent to Queenslanders waiting to return home says 8310 people are waiting on approvals for their border pass applications.
With just 706 applications processed a week, the system is taking almost 12 weeks to approve each person.
