Liberal MP rubbishes plan to pay farmers to leave the land
A Liberal MP has criticised suggestions the government should pay struggling farmers to leave the land.

The Coalition’s backbench agriculture committee has met today to discuss the recommendations.

“My first priority is to ensure that we keep farmers on their land, not encourage them to move to the city and take their family and kids with them.”
