Lauren De Groot, a single mother in Lismore, has had a year of hardship. From her home burning down in 2021, to losing her next home in the recent Lismore floods, the struggles for herself and her daughter, Freya, are overwhelming.

Despite it all, Lauren remains strong and shows incredible resilience and optimism.

She joined Luke Grant to talk about the floods, her current living situation, and the inaccessibility of the government’s support systems that are meant to protect people like Lauren.
