It’s early in the morning in London, and crowds are building again at the gates of Buckingham Palace to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth after her passing.

Nine News reporter Tracy Vo crossed to Neil Breen from Buckingham Palace, where flowers, candles and cards have been placed.

She said thousands and thousands of people gathered yesterday when the news broke.

“I want to describe to you, there was a real feeling of uncertainty and concern obviously, when the initial statement came out,” she said.

“But there was a really beautiful moment where this double rainbow appeared above Buckingham Palace, then the news broke that the Queen had indeed died, and it started pouring down rain.

“And it was silent, I think people were in shock and trying to process that news.”
